Arthur Kailua Kinney III, affectionately known as "Art," passed away peacefully at his home in Lewisville, Texas, on November 5, 2025, at the age of 68.

Born on August 3, 1957, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Art was the beloved son of Arthur Kailua Kinney Jr. and Leslie Ruth Frazier Kinney. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Following his military service, Art pursued higher education in Tennessee, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with concentrations in biology, chemistry, and physics. He went on to share his passion for education as a science teacher at Briarhill Middle School in Highland Village, where he proudly retired with numerous accolades, including the prestigious Teacher of the Year award.

Art was an avid fisherman and also involved in the Boy Scouts of America, where he mentored and inspired countless young people. A proud Hawaiian, he cherished his cultural heritage and was known among friends for his deep knowledge of the best local spots for authentic Hawaiian cuisine.

Above all, Art was a devoted husband and father. His family was the center of his life, and he will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. His legacy of compassion and dedication lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Art is survived by his wife Linda Kinney; daughter Kacie Kinney; step-son David C. Dunbar; and brother Robert Crumpton MD.

Art was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Kailua and Leslie Ruth Kinney; and brother Dollis Crumpton.

A celebration of life will be held in Art's honor, on Sunday, November 16th, at 2pm, at Mulkey Mason Funeral home in Lewisville. There will be a time of visitation 1hour prior to the service and time of visitation after the service.
