Ann VanLoenen, a devoted wife, mother, and Gigi, will be remembered for her love of family, her dedication to shaping young hearts, and the countless lives she touched throughout her life.
Ann grew up in Seward, Nebraska, where her roots and love for her home state began. It was in Kansas that she met the love of her life, Rodney VanLoenen, beginning a journey together that would become the foundation of their family and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Ann devoted more than 30 years of her life to Faith Lutheran Day School in Flower Mound, Texas, serving as its director. Her work was much more than a career; it was a calling. She lived the school's mission of shaping young hearts, making a lasting difference in the lives of countless children and families. Through her dedication, care, and commitment to early childhood education, Her legacy will live on in the many lives she influenced over those three decades.
Above all else, Ann treasured her family. She was a loving wife to Rodney, a devoted mother to her three daughters, and a proud and loving Gigi to her nine grandchildren. Her family was at the center of her world, and being part of their lives brought her immeasurable happiness. Ann and Rodney celebrated 40 years of marriage this summer by taking their family on a trip to Punta Cana.
Ann is survived by her beloved husband, Rodney VanLoenen; her three daughters and their spouses, Brian and Alyssa Jacobs, Art and Amanda Ruiz, and Darren and Allyson Jones; her nine grandchildren, Henry, August, Romie, Joaquin, Walter, Adeline, Santino, Amelia, and Austin; and her mother, Judy Preuss.
One of Ann's greatest joys was watching her grandchildren play soccer. Whether on the sidelines cheering them on or celebrating their accomplishments, she treasured every opportunity to support them and be part of their lives. Those who knew Ann knew how much happiness her grandchildren brought her and how proud she was to be their Gigi.
A proud Nebraska alumna, Ann remained a devoted fan of Nebraska football and volleyball. She loved following her teams and cheering on the Cornhuskers, keeping her Nebraska roots close to her heart throughout her life.
While her family and friends will feel her absence deeply, they will carry her memory forward in the traditions they share, the stories they tell, and the love that continues to connect them. Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy will live on in the hearts she shaped, the family she cherished, and the countless memories that will remain forever.
Forever loved. Forever Gigi. Forever Ms. Ann.
