Andrew (Andy) Jason Rupard passed away following an illness on December 29, 2023, at his home in Highland Village, Texas.

Andy was born on July 21, 1975, in Midwest City, Oklahoma to Steven Dean Rupard and Robyn (Chandler) Rupard.  Growing up in North Texas and South Louisiana, Andy was naturally athletic and always loved being outdoors.  He learned to fish as a young boy under the sage tutelage of his maternal grandfather, Crappie Joe, on Grand Lake in Northeast Oklahoma, and later in life, he enjoyed taking friends and family out on the boat to where he knew the fish would be on Lake Ray Roberts.  He always caught the biggest and the most, being the Fish Whisperer, as his sister (Diana) dubbed him.  Andy was also an avid hunter, and he enjoyed each dove, deer, and pheasant season. He was an excellent shot.  He spent many a hunt with both of his children, his brother (Alan), and close friends.

Andy married Lori Anne Groze on January 9, 1999, in Fort Worth, Texas, and they had two beautiful children together: Andrea Morgan Rupard, born October 25, 2002, and Joshua Dean Rupard, born June 3, 2005.  The Rupard family regularly took summer vacations together all over the country, and their favorite trips were to Colorado, Orlando, Arizona, and Niagara Falls.

Andy began his insurance career with Liberty Mutual in 2001, and he eventually moved into managing a team handling major cases for Gallagher Bassett.  Andy was always a hard worker and took pride in his role as a provider for his family. He loved his family, his country, and his Lord.

Lori would call him "Handy Andy" because he was always able to fix anything and everything around the house.  He loved to cook, and he was especially proficient on the grill and smoker.  His homemade beef jerky was a family favorite in Christmas stockings.  Andy loved audiobooks, and he would listen to his favorites over and over again, especially the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Harry Potter series.  Andy loved dogs, but he always said he hated cats.  However, in the past few years, he really came to tolerate, appreciate, and even like a little black cat named Sirius who came to live with them.  Sirius could regularly be found perched on Andy's shoulder or walking across his keyboard to receive treats.

Andy is survived by his wife, Lori; daughter, Andrea; son, Joshua; sister, Diana (Rupard) Fox and her husband, Charlie Fox; brother, Alan Rupard; mother Robyn (Rupard) Houston and her husband, Robert (Bob) Houston; father and mother in law, Kent and Nancy Groze; brother and sister in law, Lyle and Shelli Jarvis; aunt Becky (Rupard) Cullison and husband, Lloyd Cullison; aunt Tomi (Chandler) Hatfield and husband, Danny Hatfield; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Andy is preceded in death by his father, Steven Rupard; maternal grandparents, Joe and Verna Chandler; and paternal grandparents, Carl Rupard and Ruth (Rupard) McFerron.

There will be a memorial service Sunday, January 7, 2024, 2:00 pm, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home Chapel, 740 S. Edmonds Ln., Lewisville, TX.
