Allan Warren Johnson, 79 of Carrollton, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

The Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, with a reception immediately following in the Fellowship Center. The service will also be live-streamed here.

Al was born on April 12, 1947, in San Angelo, Texas, to Donald and Ruby Johnson. His family later moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1958 and he went on to graduate from Monterey High School in 1965.  Later he graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Parks and Recreation.  Al loved the outdoors and the mountains.  After graduation, he moved to Colorado and spent several years there before moving to Dallas in 1982.  He worked for the City of Irving for 30 years. He held different roles, including Superintendent of Parks before retiring. Knowing he had more to give, Al then went to work for Prince of Peace Lutheran Church before finally retiring again in 2020.

On March 23, 1985, Al married the love of his life, Anne.  They were married at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Dallas.  Shortly after marriage, they moved from Dallas to Carrollton, Texas and became members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.  Al was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He was a man of great faith, loved his family and enjoyed many outdoor activities, including fishing, gardening and exploring.

Al always found the opportunity, wherever he was, to share a story, a laugh, and the good news of Jesus Christ with those he came across.

Al is survived by his wife, Anne, his son Michael (Gina) Johnson, grandchildren, Cooper, Duke, Jett and Mikey; his daughter Kristen (Blake) Crenshaw, grandchildren, Jordan, Julie, Joanna and James; his sister Donna (David-DL) Wright; his brother Chris (Anne) Johnson; along with several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ruby Johnson.
