Shaun E. Chapa, 32, passed away Monday April 2, 2012 in Lewisville, Texas. Born in Corpus Christi, Shaun attended R. A Hall Elementary in Beeville and graduated from Calallen H.S. in 1997. He served honorably with the U. S. Marine Corps from 1997 to 2001. Shaun earned his B.A. degree in Anthropology from the University of North Texas in Denton and was slated to earn his Masters in Anthropology in 2012 Shaun is survived by the love of his life, daughter Elexcia M. Chapa; Girlfriend Soraya Ronco; Sister Krystle Chapa (Lewisville); Brother Barry K. Chapa (Connie) of Corpus Christi; Mother Aurora Chapa (Lewisville); Father Rudy Chapa (San Antonio); Paternal Grandparents Teresa and Elias Chapa, Sr. (Beeville); Maternal Grandparents Antonio and Candelaria Salas (Lubbock). Lewisville Visitation is Tuesday, April 3, 2012 form 7:00PM to 9:00PM at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, April 9, 2012 from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the Funeral Del Angel – Memorial Holly Funeral Home, 3442 Holly Rd., Corpus Christi, TX 78415. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM, Sacred Saint Cyril Methodius Catholic Church, 3210 South Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78415 Burial will follow at 1:00PM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. Shaun was Sector 2 V.P. of the Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity. He leaves behind numerous fraternity brothers. While a Fraternity Brother he was involved with numerous minority youth groups and worked tirelessly to raise the awareness of education and political involvement in the youth of today. An effort that took him across the U.S. and Canada. Of particular interest and involvement to Shaun was LULAC and Mueve. Shaun also performed as DJ Chapa for many fundraisers throughout Texas.
