Gary W. Truitt, age 63 of Flower Mound, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011, in Flower Mound, as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born August 7, 1947 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Pearlie Warren Truitt and Bonnie Lee Sherar Truitt. Gary served in the United States Army Special Forces and was released from service in 1981. He married Linda Black on March 15, 1980 in Arnett, Oklahoma. Son Michael was born on August 1, 1985. Gary was a member of the Methodist Church in Arnett, Oklahoma, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and both Scottish Rite and York Rite. He was also a member of the Denton County Southern Cruisers Riding Club. Gary worked for Estes Trucking as regional manager over compliance and field support. Gary is survived by his wife, Linda Truitt; son, Michael Truitt of Flower Mound; brother, Jim Truitt and wife, Donna of Malakoff, Texas; mother-in-law, Ethel Black of Woodward, Ok and sister-in-law, Jolita Bisio and her husband, Jim of Colorado Springs, Co. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle, father Pearlie Truitt, mother Bonnie Truitt, brother, Darrel Truitt, sister, Joan Ischand his father-in-law, Fred Black. Funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday June 2, 2011 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday June 4, 2011 at Allmon Cemetery in Ellis County, Oklahoma.
